Background & Aim: Randomised control trials, have demonstrated the benefit of at home Topical Wound Oxygen (TWO2) therapy as an adjunct to Standard of Care (SOC) for diabetic foot ulcers (DFU). The aim was to demonstrate the possibility of using TWO2 therapy as an adjunct for the management of patients within the hospital setting or foot clinic.
Method: This was a retrospective review of 3 cases with and ischaemic foot (CLTI), who underwent TWO2 therapy in addition to their SOC while awaiting or undergoing their vascular intervention.
Conclusion: There is the scope to use TWO2 treatment as an adjunct to SOC in complex ischaemic diabetic foot. Both pre/post revascularisation or pre amputation with potential to improve skin quality and swelling.
