Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) may contribute to progression of interstitial lung disease (ILD) through chronic microaspiration and airway inflammation. This retrospective study evaluated changes in pulmonary function and clinical outcomes in ILD patients undergoing GERD treatment. Surgical manangement was associated with higher rates of clinical improvement compared with medical therapy, suggesting that effective reflux control may benefit selected ILD patients.
