Videoscopic Mitral Valve Repair with Chordal Replacement Demonstrating Dynamic Sizing and Adjustment of Chordal Lenth

Objective: To demonstrate a simple method of mitral valve repair using neo-chords
Methods: Sizing of ring or band using non-resection neo-chordal technique is different than classic resection methods. Neo-chord length determination can be problematic and multiple approaches have been described. The video demonstrates a simple and easily reproducible technique of both ring/band sizing and neo-chord adjustment under ventricular loading.
Results: During the last five years the demonstrated method of ring/band sizing and adjustment of neo-chords has been used at our center with consistent results and without instances of mitral stenosis or SAM.
Conclusions: A simple and reproducible technique of repair of the degenerative mitral valve is demonstrated with ring/band sizing and neo-chord length adjustment performed under ventricular loading.
