Results From An Enhanced Recovery After Surgery Cohort

Enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) seeks to quickly restore baseline in part by adequately controlling pain and limitng reliance upon opioids.  Although consensus guidelines include epidurals as a Grade 1a element, there are reservations to their use in open hepatectomy given the potenial for hemodynamic compromise and coagulopathy.  Our group reviewed epidural use as an independent element of enhanced recovery after surgery for open hepatectomy
